Rooted in the natural and historic setting of Fort Worden, the initiative brings together place-based education and global civil-society dialogue to help young people learn, create, report, and lead.

Homepage Description

At Fort Worden, United Earth Networks is developing a living campus for peace, creativity, design science, ecological learning, and youth media. Through immersive residencies, workshops, public programs, and digital storytelling, participants engage real issues, build communication skills, and contribute original content to a growing public-interest media ecosystem.

Short About Paragraph

United Earth Networks convenes cross-sector partnerships that connect local place-based learning with global civil-society engagement. Current work at Fort Worden integrates youth training, media production, peace building, arts, and systems-thinking education through collaboration with the CoNGO Institute, PEAC Institute, Hubcast Media, and the Buckminster Fuller Institute.

Program Description

The Fort Worden initiative is designed as a year-round educational and creative platform where young people can participate in citizen journalism training, peace and dialogue practice, music and arts workshops, ecological field learning, and whole-systems design experiences.

Participants do not simply attend events; they create stories, interviews, performances, and media that become part of an ongoing content stream for Architects of a New Dawn, the UEN website, and partner channels.

Youth Media Section

Youth Citizen Journalism

The CoNGO Institute Youth Citizen Journalism model prepares young people to investigate public issues, conduct interviews, document local and global stories, and publish original work through professional media channels.

Training includes source evaluation, ethical reporting, audio and video production, written storytelling, collaborative editing, and solutions-oriented journalism tied to real-world civic and ecological themes.

Why It Matters

This work gives youth an authentic voice while also building a durable library of constructive, youth-generated public-interest content. It helps participants strengthen confidence, communication, civic awareness, and creative leadership while contributing to larger conversations on peace, culture, and planetary responsibility.
