Jack Healey is a human rights activist, pioneer, and founder of the Human Rights Action Center (HRAC), an organization that partners with leaders in the creative arts — music, theater, film, and the written word — to raise awareness around critical human rights issues and shine a light on lesser-known cases of abuse and neglect.

With over 60 years of experience in the human rights movement, Jack is widely regarded as one of its most effective and innovative leaders. He played a pivotal role in transforming human rights from a subject confined to closed-door diplomatic negotiations into a matter of widespread public awareness, open debate, and direct citizen action. Colleagues credit him with elevating human rights as a central concern for governments, advocacy organizations, and individuals across the globe.

As Executive Director of Amnesty International USA for 12 years, Jack pioneered the use of media and enlisted world-class musical talent as advocates and spokespersons, bringing human rights to the global stage in a powerful and unprecedented way. His creative approach earned him the title of "Mr. Human Rights" by U.S. News and World Report.

Today, through the Human Rights Action Center, Jack continues his lifelong mission — amplifying the voices of the vulnerable and mobilizing the power of art and culture in the service of human dignity.
