Architecture of Peace the strategy manual

The Architecture of Peace is the strategy companion to Architects of Peace—moving beyond the stories of peacebuilders to reveal how durable peace movements actually succeed. Drawing on UEN’s analysis of 20 historic movements—10 that failed and 10 that achieved lasting change—it identifies the practical leverage points that turn public concern into policy, accountability, and action.

At its core is a clear premise: movements do not fail for lack of passion or participation; they fail when they lack strategy, specific and achievable demands, allies within decision-making institutions, and sustained pressure that makes inaction untenable. Successful movements build the architecture for change—and remain long enough to use it.

The project arrives at a critical moment, as armed conflict and civilian suffering have sharply accelerated since 2020. The Architecture of Peace will give leaders, funders, educators, policymakers, and citizens an accessible framework for transforming urgency into effective, long-term peace-building.

Inspired in part by the catalytic force of Thomas Paine’s Common Sense, the book will pair historic insight with a modern media and mobilization strategy—equipping a new generation to communicate a credible, actionable vision for peace.

More than a companion book, Architecture of Peace is a practical blueprint for making peace a winnable public priority.
